SHRI SELVAM G: SHRI C N ANNADURAI: SHRI NAVASKANI K: Will the Minister of SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP be pleased to state: - (a) whether the Government maintains gender-disaggregated data on candidates trained and placed under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0 in Tamil Nadu, district- wise and if so, the details for female candidates; (b) the number of women trained under PMKVY 4.0 in Tamil Nadu since its launch, along with the number of trainees successfully placed across various job roles; (c) the details of female trainees from Kanchipuram, including enrolment, completion, placement rates and sectors in which they were employed, district-wise; (d) whether any targeted skilling initiatives for women-such as tailoring, healthcare, IT/ITES, beauty & wellness and entrepreneurship have been introduced in the said districts under PMKVY 4.0; (e) if so, the measures taken by the Government to expand women’s participation in PMKVY 4.0 centres in these backward and semi-urban districts, including hostel facilities, stipend support and tie-ups with local industries; and (f) whether additional women-focused training centres are proposed in these districts to improve female employment opportunities, if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY) (a) & (b) Under PMKVY 4.0, as on 31.10.2025, a total of 86,750 female candidates have been trained/oriented across 37 Districts in Tamil Nadu. District-wise and gender-wise details of candidates trained/oriented under PMKVY 4.0 is given at Annexure-I. Placements were tracked in the Short-Term Training (STT) component of the first three versions of the PMKVY Scheme i.e. PMKVY 1.0, PMKVY 2.0 and PMKVY 3.0 implemented from FY 2015-16 to FY 2021-22. Under PMKVY 4.0, the focus is to empower our trained candidates to choose their varied career path and they are suitably oriented for the same through On-job Training (OJT) embedded industry relevant skill courses. The Scheme includes a dedicated provision for Special Projects aimed at enhancing the participation of under-represented social groups, including SC, ST, women, and persons with disabilities (PwDs). Special emphasis is placed on empowering women and marginalized communities by facilitating their access to skill development programs. To promote inclusivity and ensure that these groups can participate in training and subsequently access gainful wage or self-employment opportunities, the Scheme provides Boarding and Lodging (B&L) and transport facilities for women, PwDs, and trainees from Special Areas, as defined under the Common Norms, for both within and outside Special Areas. Additionally, conveyance support is permissible for women and PwDs undergoing non-residential training, in accordance with the Common Norms.
