ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) to (d) A Statement is laid on the Table of the House. The Statement referred in reply to Rajya Sabha Starred Question No.44 for 03.02.2026 (a) & (b) Ministry of Ayush has played a pivotal role in developing Traditional Medicine Module 2 of Chapter 26 in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11), dedicated to Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani. It includes standardized morbidity codes and disease terminologies formally indexing them within the WHO ICD-11 classification. The codes are globally available on the WHO platform and can be used by practitioners and health information systems across all States and Union Territories. Ministry under the Ayush Grid initiative has developed Ayush Hospital Management Information System (AHMIS) which is Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) compliant and ICD 11 codes for adoption across Ayush facilities throughout the States in which all patient data is recorded in accordance to the ICD-11 codes. It supports standardized diagnostics, service delivery, and data management for monitoring and community wellness. (c) & (d) The inclusion of TM Module-2 strengthens evidence-based integration of traditional medicine into public health systems, supports research and development, facilitates policy formulation, and enhances prospects for insurance coverage and global recognition of Ayush systems. By aligning traditional medical knowledge with international standards, ICD-11 TM Module-2 serves as a critical bridge between traditional healthcare wisdom and modern global health governance, reinforcing India’s leadership in advancing traditional medicine worldwide. During the year 2025, international cooperation and agreements undertaken by the Ministry of Ayush have significantly strengthened global engagement in traditional medicine. These collaborations facilitated joint research initiatives, knowledge exchange, and harmonization of standards with international bodies, particularly through multilateral platforms and technical partnerships. Ministry of Ayush has signed 03 Country to Country Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) for Cooperation in the field of Traditional Medicine with Angola, Tanzania and Kazakhstan, 5 Institute Level MoU with Indonesia, USA, Ghana, Mongolia and Cuba, 1 Chair MoU signed with Oman during 2025 for propagation and promotion of Ayush at global stage. India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) was signed in December 2025 and under this agreement New Zealand has signed an annex to facilitate trade in Ayurveda, Yoga, and other traditional medicine services with India. This landmark provision promotes the global recognition of Ayush systems, supports medical value travel, encourages collaboration in wellness services, and reinforces India’s position as a global hub for health, wellness, and traditional medicine services. Further, India and Oman sign Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). A landmark element of the Agreement is Oman’s commitment on Traditional Medicine extended across all modes of supply representing the first such comprehensive commitment made by any country and creating a significant opportunity for Ayush and wellness sectors to showcase its strength in the Gulf region. ****
