SHRI SUKANATA KUMAR PANIGRAHI Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has formulated any specific strategy to strengthen transmission infrastructure and grid management systems for seamless integration of renewable energy generated into the national grid in Odisha; (b) if so, the details of renewable energy capacity including solar, wind, small hydro and biomass installed and currently connected to the grid during the last five years in the State; (c) the details of budgetary allocation made, funds released and expenditure incurred by the Government during the last five years for grid integration, transmission strengthening and renewable energy evacuation infrastructure in Odisha under various Central schemes, including the Green Energy Corridor Scheme; and (d) whether the Government proposes to provide additional financial assistance for energy storage systems, smart grid technologies and inter-state transmission lines to facilitate large-scale renewable energy expansion in Odisha and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR NEW & RENEWABLE ENERGY AND POWER ( SHRI SHRIPAD YESSO NAIK) (a) As per Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUIL), the Inter State Transmission System (ISTS) network has been adequately augmented in Eastern Grid including in Odisha, for supply of renewable power from Renewable Energy (RE) rich states across India. Further Intra State Transmission System (InSTS) network for evacuation of 1.7 GW of RE has been proposed by Odisha under Green Energy Corridor Phase III scheme. (b) Details of renewable energy capacity installed in the State of Odisha during last five years and the current year upto February, 2026 is as follows: Small Solar Total Wind Bio Large Hydro Powe Capaci Power Power Hydro Power r ty (MW) (MW) (MW) (MW) (MW) (MW) 76.01 0.00 5.00 359.04 12.30 452.35 (c) No funds have been allocated, released, or expenditure incurred by the Government during the last five years for grid integration, transmission strengthening, and renewable energy evacuation infrastructure in Odisha under various Central schemes, including the Green Energy Corridor Scheme.(d) For facilitating the integration of Renewable energy in the country, Ministry of Power, in June, 2025, has launched Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme for development of 30 GWh of BESS capacity, with a financial support of Rs 5,400Cr, through Power System Development Fund (PSDF). Under this scheme, State of Odisha has been allocated 500 MWh BESS capacity providing VGF @ Rs 18 lakhs /MWh. *****
