GVA OF FOOD PROCESSING SECTOR
6247. SHRI RAHUL SINGH LODHI:
Will the Minister of FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:
(a) the details of Gross Value Added (GVA) of the food processing sector in 2023-24
compared to 20214-15, Foreign Direct Investment equity inflows from April 2014 to
March 2025 and the share of processed foods in agri-food exports in 2024-25;
(b) the employment share of the food processing sector in organised manufacturing sector as
per the Annual Survey of Industries 2023-24; and
(c) the contribution of States in food processing sector growth from the year 2014-15 to
2023-24 and the number of food processing units set up under Production-Linked
Incentive Scheme and their investment commitments till December 2025?

(a): The details are placed at Annexure-I.
(b): As per the latest report of Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) 2023–24, the food processing
sector contributed 12.83% to total employment in the organized manufacturing sector
(c): As per the ASI, 2023-24, the state-wise contribution of number of units in Food Processing
sector is placed at Annexure-II. Moreover, under Production Linked Incentive Scheme for the
Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI), 168 applications with 275 projects have been approved.
The committed investment approved under the scheme is Rs. 7722 Crore against which the actual
investment is Rs. 9207 Crore as on 31.12.2025.
