(a) whether the Government is considering to set up Herbal Garden under the Medicinal
Board in Madhya Pradesh, particularly in Damoh Lok Sabha Constituency;
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(c) whether the Government is considering to set up AYUSH Wellness Centre,
Panchakarma Centre and Herbal Hub in Damoh Lok Sabha Constituency; and

(a & b): No. However, the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), Ministry of
Ayush, Government of India is implementing a Central Sector Scheme on “Conservation,
Development and Sustainable Management of Medicinal Plants” under which project based
financial support is provided for establishment of different types of Herbal Gardens to various
Government and Non-Government organizations throughout the country. NMPB has
supported 10 projects for establishment of different types of Herbal Gardens in the State of
Madhya Pradesh.(c) & (d): Public health being a State subject, setting up of Ayush Wellness Centre,
Panchakarma Centre, and Herbal Hub in Damoh Lok Sabha Constituency comes under the
purview of the respective State Government. However, Ministry of Ayush is implementing
Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM) through State/UT
Governments including Madhya Pradesh for overall development and promotion of Ayush
systems across the country by providing financial assistance under different activities as per
the proposals received from them through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs). Under NAM,
their is a provision of financial assistance for setting up of 50/30/10 Bedded Integrated Ayush
hospital which also having the facility of Panchakarma activity and State/UT Governments
may avail financial assistance by submitting suitable proposals through SAAPs as per the
provision of NAM guidelines.
