(a) the details of the identity cards issued to handicraft artisans in Haryana State, especially Sonipat Lok
Sabha constituency since the inception of the scheme, district-wise;
(b) the details of the benefits received by the identity card holders under the National Handicraft
Development Program, Comprehensive Handicraft Cluster Development Scheme etc.;
(c) the details of handicraft artisans benefited from the above schemes and other schemes of the Ministry
during the last three years and the current year, State/District and Scheme-wise in Haryana State,
especially Sonipat Lok Sabha; and
(d) the budget allocated for the above scheme during the last year and the scheme-wise amount spent
during the current year?

(a): The total number of artisans registered under Pahchaan initiative in the country, and district-wise
in Haryana State especially Sonipat is enclosed at Annexure-I.
(b): The Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) under the aegis of Ministry of
Textiles implements two schemes namely National Handicrafts Development Programme (NHDP) and
Comprehensive Handicrafts Cluster Development Scheme (CHCDS) for overall development and
promotion of handicrafts sector across the country. Under these schemes, need based financial assistance
is provided for end-to-end support to the artisans with identity cards through marketing events, skill
development, cluster development, formation of Producer Companies, direct benefit to artisans,
infrastructural & technology support and research & development support, which benefit the traditional
crafts and artisans throughout the country.
(c): Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) provides support to the cluster artisans and
does not maintain data of district-wise beneficiaries. Schemes of DC(Handcrafts) are need-based and
may vary from state to state. However, total number of artisans benefited from schemes of Office of
Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and the Samarth scheme, Ministry of Textiles during the last
three years and the current year in the state of Haryana is as under:
