Will the Minister of STEEL be pleased to state:
(a) the details of measures implemented in Chhattisgarh to ensure equitable distribution
of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives;
(b) whether the Government has conducted any independent third party evaluation to
assess the impact of CSR project of Bhilai Steel Plant, a unit of SAIL, on the targeted
beneficiaries;
(c) if so, the details thereof, district-wise particularly with regard to Durg Lok Sabha
constituency;
(d) whether the CSR activities of SAIL are proposed to be extended further to the
additional aspirational districts or other underdeveloped areas of the State; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

Responsibility (CSR) initiatives as per Government guidelines and CPSE policy. Steel
Authority of India Limited(SAIL)/ Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) follows a need-assessment–
based allocation model, wherein CSR resources are deployed across Bhilai, Durg and
nearby mining districts based on verified gaps in healthcare, education, livelihood, rural
infrastructure, and women empowerment.
(b)&(c): SAIL/BSP engages third-party agencies to conduct a comprehensive impact
assessment of its CSR initiatives on targeted beneficiaries, including at Durg Lok Sabha
constituency.
(d)&(e): SAIL is already implementing CSR activities in three aspirational districts i.e.
