Will the Minister of JAL SHAKTI be pleased to state:
(a) the names of the districts of Rajasthan covered under the Atal Bhujal Yojana (ABY);
(b) whether the Dausa Lok Sabha Constituency has also been selected under ABY and if so, the details thereof
indicating major works carried out during the last three years and the current year, so far;
(c) the number of Gram Panchayats in the said Constituency where Water Security Plans (WSP) have been
prepared along with the number of Gram Panchayats where implementation of these plans has been initiated;
(d) the details of total funds utilised under ABY in Rajasthan so far and the details of Central assistance
received in Dausa district under it till date; and
(e) the steps being taken/likely to be taken by the Government for regular operation of ABY and the integration
of WSP into Gram Panchayat development plans?

(a) Atal Bhujal Yojana was a pilot scheme for community led participatory groundwater management,
implemented in priority water stressed areas across 8,203 priority water stressed Gram Panchayats of 229
blocks in 80 districts of seven states viz. Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh,
Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
In Rajasthan, this scheme was implemented in 17 districts viz. Ajmer, Alwar, Baran, Bhilwara,
Chittorgarh, Dausa, Dholpur, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Kota, Rajsamand,
Sawai Madhopur and Sikar.
(b) Atal Bhujal Yojana was implemented in 7 blocks (viz. Baijupada, Bandikui, Baswa, Dausa, Lawan,
Nangal-Rajawatan and Sikandra) of Dausa district under the Dausa parliamentary constituency. The details of
activities / works done in the said Blocks covered under the Atal Bhujal Yojana are provided in Annexure.
(c) Water Security Plans (WSPs) have been prepared, updated annually and implementation of recommended
works taken up for all 148 Gram Panchayats (GPs) in 7 blocks of Dausa district covered under the Scheme.
(d) Atal Bhujal Yojana was a Program for Results scheme and allocation of funds is based on the overall
performance of the participating States under various indicators and District-wise fund release is not made. So
far, an amount of Rs.489.05 cr has been disbursed /assigned to State Program Management Unit, Rajasthan
under the scheme, out of which Rs.485.79 cr has been utilized.
(e) Atal Bhujal Yojana was conceived as a pilot scheme for participatory ground water management with a
fixed duration & outlay. However, this Ministry requested all states to integrate Water Security Plans prepared
under Atal Bhujal Yojana with the Gram Panchayat Development Plans for sustainability of activities in the
future.
