SHRI CAPTAIN BRIJESH CHOWTA: Will the Minister of JAL SHAKTI be pleased to state: (a) the number of irrigation projects sanctioned and completed in Karnataka under the Har Khet Ko Paani component of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) during the last five years with specific reference to Dakshina Kannada district; (b) the total irrigation potential created or restored in Dakshina Kannada district through surface and ground water schemes; (c) the amount of Union Government assistance sanctioned, released and utilised for these projects, year-wise; (d) the number of water bodies in Karnataka including those in Dakshina Kannada district selected for funding under the Repair, Renovation and Restoration (RRR) component of Har Khet Ko Paani and the present status of their renovation; and (e) whether the Government has undertaken any assessment of water use efficiency, irrigation coverage or cropping intensity improvements in Dakshina Kannada under Har Khet Ko Paani, if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR JAL SHAKTI (SHRI RAJ BHUSHAN CHOUDHARY) (a) to (c) Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) launched during the year 2015-16, aims to enhance physical access of water on farm and expand cultivable area under assured irrigation, improve on-farm water use efficiency, introduce sustainable water conservation practices, etc. PMKSY is an umbrella scheme, consisting of two major components being implemented by Ministry of Jal Shakti, namely, Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP), and Har Khet Ko Pani (HKKP).
