Shri E T Mohammed Basheer: Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state: (a) whether it has come to the notice of the Government that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) despite being the country’s premier national school board has recently faced repeated failures in effectively implementing its new examination schemes, ensuring error-free conduct of Class 10 and 12 board examinations and providing timely and transparent communication to students, parents and schools; (b) if so, the details thereof; (c) the details of specific instances during the last three academic years where CBSE has had to issue clarifications, corrigenda, re-notifications or re-schedule examinations due to its own procedural or communication failures; and (d) the details of corrective steps taken by the Government to review CBSE’s governance structure, fix accountability for these failures at appropriate levels, and ensure that similar lapses do not reoccur in future? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY) (a) & (b): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) successfully conducted the Class X Board Examinations from 17 February to 11 March 2026 and the Class XII Board Examinations from 17 February to 10 April 2026. In line with the recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020, CBSE implemented the policy of conducting two Board Examinations for Class X from 2026, thereby providing eligible students an additional opportunity to improve their performance. The second Class X Board Examination was conducted from 15 May to 21 May 2026. CBSE also ensured clear and timely dissemination of information and necessary communications to all stakeholders, including schools, students and parents. (c): The schedules of the CBSE Class X and Class XII Board Examinations were not affected by any procedural or communication related issues. (d): A robust system of supervision and oversight is in place to ensure the smooth, fair and transparent conduct of examinations. *****
