IMPLEMENTATION OF PM-JANMAN IN KERALA
1955. DR. SHASHI THAROOR:
Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Ministry has undertaken any assessment of the extent to which the
interventions under PM-JANMAN have improved access to housing, healthcare,
drinking water, education, connectivity and livelihood opportunities for Particularly
Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) in Kerala and if so, the details and findings
thereof;
(b) whether the Ministry has received any representations or identified any
challenges relating to the delivery of benefits to PVTG beneficiaries under the
various components of PM-JANMAN in Kerala and if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Ministry has taken up with the concerned implementing Ministries
and the Government of Kerala the issues affecting timely delivery of benefits to
PVTG beneficiaries under PM-JANMAN and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) whether the Government proposes any additional measures to improve inter-
ministerial coordination and accelerate the delivery of benefits under PM-JANMAN
to PVTGs in Kerala and if so, the details thereof?

(a): The Ministry has been monitoring the implementation of the interventions under
Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha AbhiyaN (PMJANMAN) across the
implemneting states including State of Kerala. The assessment of progress is
undertaken through periodic reviews, field-level monitoring, and reports receivedfrom the concerned State Government and implementing agencies. The progress so
made under the abhiyan has contributed to the socio-economic development of
PVTGs in the State of Kerala through improvement in basic amenities and livelihood
opportunities.The details of the benefits given under PM JANMAN, as on
30.06.2026, Ministry-wise, in Kerala, are given at Annexure I.
(b): No specific representation has been received or challenge has been noticed in
implementation of PM JANMAN in Kerala.
(c) & (d): The Ministry is regularly coordinating with concerned line
Ministries/Departments and the State Tribal Welfare Department / other line State
Departments for implementation of the existing interventions under the PM
JANMAN and to expedite the achievements of the targets. Further, to ensure the
effective implementation of the PM JANMAN, the Ministry has established a
Project Monitoring Unit at the national level. This unit regularly coordinates with
line Ministries and State Governments to assess progress.Annexure – I
