Implementation of PMMSY in Andhra Pradesh

Will the Minister of FISHERIES, ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND DAIRYING be
pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has conducted any study/survey regarding the
implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) in Andhra
Pradesh during the last five years;
(b) if so, the details regarding the list of infrastructure projects, component-wise,
proposed, sanctioned and presently functional under the (PMMSY) in Andhra Pradesh,
district-wise especially in Nellore district;
(c) the details regarding the total amount of funds allocated, released and utilised for the
implementation of PMMSY in Andhra Pradesh, component-wise and district-wise
especially in Nellore district, and
(d) whether the Government has any proposals for skill development programmes in
Andhra Pradesh for fishermen under the PMMSY, if so, the details thereof, district-wise,
especially in Nellore district and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): The Department of Fisheries (DoF), Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and
Dairying (MoFAH&D), Government of India (GoI) is implementing Pradhan Mantri
Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) in all States and UTs, including the State of
Andhra Pradesh, since 2020-21. The DoF, GoI, is regularly monitoring and reviewing
the implementation of activities approved under PMMSY in the Government of Andhra
Pradesh at various levels. Evaluation of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme component
of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) has been completed.(b) and (c): Under the PMMSY Scheme, the Government of India has approved the
Government of Andhra Pradesh's proposal at a total cost of Rs. 2416.92 crore, with a
central share of Rs. 569.86 crore. An amount of Rs.482.55 crore has been released
as the central share for the implementation of various activities in the State, including
in Nellore District. As reported by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, district‑wise
details of approved infrastructure projects are provided at Annexure‑I, and
component‑wise approved schemes along with funds utilized in Nellore District are
provided at Annexure‑II.
(d) The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and
Dairying, Government of India under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana
(PMMSY) is implementing training and capacity building programme across the
country in all States and Union Territories including in Andhra Pradesh in order to
develop skilled manpower in fisheries and aquaculture sector with 100% central share.
The National Fisheries Development of Board (NFDB) is designated as the
Implementing Agency for implementation of training and capacity building programme
under PMMSY. As reported by NFDB, Rs. 254.341 lakh was released to various
agencies to conduct 218 training programmes, covering 9570 fishers and fish farmers
in Andhra Pradesh, including in Nellore District under PMMSY. The Government of
Andhra Pradesh has reported that the training programme has also been provided to
2180 women beneficiaries on seaweed cultivation in the coastal Districts.
