Parliament Question: Implementation of VB-GRAM-G

Shri Kuldeep Indora: Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state: (a) whether it is a fact that despite the implementation of the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rojgar and Aajeevika Mission-Gramin (VB- GRAM-G) scheme in place of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), payments for wages, construction materials and eligible unemployment allowances for works undertaken under MGNREGS remain pending in several districts of Rajasthan including Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh; (b) if so, the details of the pending wages, material payments and unemployment allowances in Rajasthan, district-wise; (c) the main reasons for the said pending payments and action has been taken in this regard at the Central and State levels; and (d) the time-bound steps taken by the Government to ensure the expeditious payment of pending dues and unemployment allowances to all eligible workers, suppliers and beneficiaries? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (SHRI KAMLESH PASWAN) (a) to (d): Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (Mahatma Gandhi NREGS), funds are released to the States/UTs based on “agreed to” Labour Budget and actual performance of the State during the year. Whereas the wage payments are directly created into the bank accounts of the workers through Direct Benefit Transfer protocol based on Aadhar Payment Page 1 of 2Bridge System, the funds for material and Admin components are released to the States, who in turn release the funds to the districts. The Pending Wages, Material and unemployment allowances in respect of State of Rajasthan under Mahatma Gandhi NREGS as of 13.07.2026 are as under: Wage component Material component Unemployment Allowance Rs.683.28 crore Rs. 944.91 crore 1.25 lakhs (as per information (to be paid by the State) available on NREGAsoft) The Central Government has requested all States/UTs, including the State of Rajasthan to submit proposal for pending liabilities, if any for previous financial years to enable this Department to examine the same and release all eligible payments expeditiously. ***** Page 2 of 2
