BACHHAV SHOBHA DINESH: Will the Minister of TEXTILES वस्त्र मंत्री be pleased to state : (a) the details of import of cotton into the country during the last ten years, along with the rate of purchase, year/country-wise; (b) the details of purchase of cotton from local farmers during the last ten years along with the rate of purchase, year/State wise; (c) the details of unsold bales in stock of CCI; (d) whether the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) purchases cotton from farmers in Maharashtra at a Minimum Support Price (MSP); and (e) whether the Government plans to impose a sanction on import of cotton in light of the drop in cotton prices and losses faced by domestic farmers due to same, if so, the details thereof? उत्तर ANSWER वस्त्र राज् य मंत्री (श्री पबित्र मार्घरे रटा) THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR TEXTILES (SHRI PABITRA MARGHERITA) (a): The details of cotton imports into the country over the last ten years, including year-wise and country-wise data along with value, are provided at Annexure-I. (b): State-wise details of cotton purchases from local farmers by Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) during the last ten years, along with value is at Annexure-II. (c): Out of the total procurement of 100.16 lakh bales under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) operations during the 2024–25 cotton season, 71.54 lakh bales have been sold through e-auction as of 04.08.2025, and unsold stock is 28.62 lakh bales.
