ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (SHRI KAMLESH PASWAN) (a): No proposal to revise the coverage/rate of assistance under NSAP is under consideration of the Government at present. (b) to (d): As per the guidelines of National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), the responsibility for identification/selection of beneficiaries, verification of applications, sanctioning, Page 1 of 2maintenance/deletion of beneficiary data and last mile disbursal of pension to the beneficiaries vests with the respective States/UTs. The State/UTs are expected to develop an effective and proactive strategy sensitive to the special needs of the beneficiaries to enable them to get Aadhaar numbers. This should be followed up by seeding the Aadhaar numbers in the Bank/Post office accounts. It is also expected of the States/UTs to ensure that no beneficiary is denied his or her entitlements for the reasons that she/he has no bank/post office account and/or Aadhaar number. Pension under NSAP is disbursed through DBT mechanism into the bank accounts of beneficiaries using APB or NEFT mode. The beneficiary database under NSAP is reviewed and updated periodically by the respective States/UTs. Accordingly, pension payments may be discontinued and beneficiary records may be modified or deleted on account of reasons such as death, migration, duplication, non-traceability of the beneficiary, incorrect or invalid bank account details, failure of payment transactions, or other reasons identified during verification and periodic validation undertaken by the respective States/UTs. (e): As per data provided by the State Government, the number of widow pension scheme beneficiaries in Ambedkar Nagar removed on account of the cancellation or freezing of their bank accounts due to their non-linkage with Aadhaar, year-wise is given below: 2020-2021 2021- 2022 2022- 2023 2023- 2024 2024- 2025 2025- 2026 28 45 41 31 56 57 ***** Page 2 of 2
