(a) & (b) The High Level Core Group (HLCG) between India and Maldives
has met twice in 2025, in January and May. The HLCG meetings are
1convened to oversee the progress of the India-Maldives Joint Vision for a
Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership.
Areas of cooperation on which discussions are held in these meetings
include political exchanges, development partnership, trade, finance,
energy, digital, health, defence and security, capacity building and
training, people-to-people linkages and cooperation at regional and
multilateral fora. The HLCG meetings were helpful in advancing India-
