SHRI RAVI CHANDRA VADDIRAJU Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state :- (a) the overarching diplomatic stance with Iran; (b) the steps being taken to verify recent reports; (c) the manner in which it is being transparently communicated to the public; and (d) the precautionary measures in place for Indian citizens currently in Iran to ensure their safety? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS (SHRI KIRTI VARDHAN SINGH) (a to d) The Government is closely monitoring the situation in Iran. The Embassy of India in Tehran continues to be in regular contact with the Indian nationals, including students, in Iran, and is providing them suitable guidance. The Government issued travel advisories on 05 and 14 January 2026, urging avoidance of non-essential travel to Iran, advising Indians in Iran to leave via commercial flights and to stay alert. The Embassy continues to assist, advise and guide citizens as required. *****
