Will the Minister of FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:
(a) the manner in which the eighth edition of Indusfood would help/contribute to advance
farming methods in the country;
(b) whether there are any programmes or incentives in place to help Indian businesses;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the manner in which Indusfood 2025-26 would affect the Indian food and beverage
sector and international trade relations in the long run?

QUESTION NO. *71 FOR ANSWER ON 23rd JULY, 2026 REGARDING “INDUSFOOD
2025-26”
(a) to (d): The 8th and 9th editions of Indus Food were organized by Trade Promotion Council
of India (TPCI) from 8 to 10 January, 2025 and 8 to 10 January, 2026 respectively. The 8th
edition of the event was supported by Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce &
Industry with a grant-in-aid of Rs. 6.00 crores under the Scheme for Market Access Initiative
(MAI). Investment Promotion events such as World Food India (WFI) organized by the
Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Aahaar by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO)
and Indus Food etc., are offering a platform for the Indian Food & Beverage Companies to
exhibit their products and connect with importers, distributors and retailers worldwide.
Investment promotion events are expected to boost business and strengthen India’s
presence in the international market by driving the adoption of advanced technologies,
promoting sustainable practices and enhancing product quality to meet global standards.
In order to promote and ensure overall development of Food Processing Industries,
Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has been incentivizing setting up/ expansion
of related infrastructure, through its two Central Sector Scheme viz. Pradhan Mantri Kisan
SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY), Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing
Industry (PLISFPI) and a Centrally sponsored PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing
Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme. Ministry provides financial assistance in the form of grants-in-
aid/ subsidy to entrepreneurs for setting up such industries across the country. The projects are
selected for assistance on the basis of Expression of Interest (EoI) issued from time to time.
Ministry has approved 1735 projects, as on 30.06.2026, having project cost of Rs.
33,163.34 crore with approved grants-in-aid/ subsidy of Rs 9,258.60 crore and private
investment of Rs 23,904.74 crore under corresponding component schemes of PMKSY.
A total of 2,00,421 micro food processing enterprises has been approved as on
30.06.2026 for credit linked subsidy and 4,18,293 members of Self Help Groups supported for
seed capital amounting of Rs. 1438.29 crore in rural and urban areas of the country under
PMFME Scheme.
A total of 163 proposals under different categories of PLISFPI scheme have been
approved as on 30.06.2026 and a total incentive of Rs 3271.44 crore has been disbursed so far.
