**Policy Summary: BharatNet Phase II Implementation in Andhra Pradesh**
This document summarizes the status of BharatNet Phase II implementation in Andhra Pradesh, based on information provided to the Lok Sabha on July 30, 2025. The BharatNet scheme aims to provide broadband connectivity to 2.6 lakh Gram Panchayats (GPs) across India. Under Phase II, 1,02,133 GPs were planned for connectivity, with 11,274 specifically in Andhra Pradesh.
As of June 30, 2025, all 11,274 GPs in Andhra Pradesh have been made service-ready under BharatNet Phase II, contributing to the 94,146 GPs made service-ready nationwide. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Phase II implementation was signed with the Andhra Pradesh state government on November 13, 2017. Detailed state-wise and district-wise data on GPs covered under BharatNet Phase II is available on the Digital Bharat Nidhi website (https:usof.gov.inhome).
A proposal from Andhra Pradesh regarding Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) provisioning was received. However, funding for CPE modems is not included in the MoU for BharatNet Phase II.
