On December 12, 2025, Shri Amra Ram posed Unstarred Question No. 2151 to the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways regarding inland port facilities in Rajasthan. The question inquired whether the port provides the cheapest transportation facility for export sector, if Kandla Port is close enough to Barmer district to provide such facility, if there were any action plans for inland port facilities in Rajasthan through Kandla Port, and the timeline for completion.
The Minister, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, responded that Deendayal Port Authority provides one of the cheapest transport facilities for the export sector and offers some of the lowest Cargo and Vessel related Charges amongst all major ports in the country. He stated that Inland Port facilities are already available in Rajasthan through 12 notified Inland Container Depots (ICDs) by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), which support the movement of export-import cargo. These ICDs can be utilized for customs clearance and related logistics services for the trade.
The 12 ICDs are located in: 1. Bhilwara, 2. Bhiwadi, 3. Jaipur, 4. Jodhpur, 5. Kota, 6. Udaipur, 7. Ravatha Road, Kota, 8. Mandavariya (Kishangarh), District Ajmer, 9. Hindaun City, District Karauli, 10. Kathuwas and Mandhan Village, District Alwar, 11. Dhanakya and 12. Kishangarh.

facilities for export sector and it offers one of the lowest Cargo and Vessel related Charges
