ANSWER MINISTER OF PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS (SHRI SARBANANDA SONOWAL) (a) Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, has been conducting feasibility studies and on the basis of feasibility, 32 National Waterways (NWs) have been made operational.
