INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION IN GREEN ENERGY PROJECTS

Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state:
(a) the details of green energy projects currently underway in various States of the country
particularly in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli;
(b) the details of capacity augmentation, State-wise;
(c) the details of nature of international cooperation in the field of solar and wind energy;
(d) the details of financing pattern for solar parks; and
(e) the details of challenges being faced in grid integration?
ANSWER

(a) & (b) As on 31.01.2026, a total of 263.18 GW renewable energy capacity has been installed in the
country, including 138.65 MW in the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
In addition, Renewable Energy projects of 180.67 GW capacity have been awarded and projects of
47.92 GW capacity have been tendered in the country. State-wise details of Renewable Energy
installed capacity as on 31.01.2026 are given at Annexure.
(c) The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy collaborates with potential countries in the field of
Renewable Energy including Solar Energy, Wind Energy, Green Hydrogen, Storage, Grid integration
etc. through various mechanisms such as Memorandums of Understanding (MoU), Letters of Intent
(LoI), Joint Declarations of Intent (JDI), Energy Dialogues and Partnerships. The modalities of
collaboration in the various domains of Renewable Energy sector include exchanging policies, capacity
building and lessons learned, exchange of personnel for training, exchange of scientific information,
organization of workshops, seminars and working group meetings, development of joint research or
technical projects on subjects of mutual interest. In this process, there is extensive engagement with
the officials of foreign Governments and private industries to facilitate partnerships.
(d) Under the scheme for “Development of Solar Parks and Ultra Mega Solar Power Projects”, the
Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of up to Rs. 20.00 lakh per MW or 30% of the project cost,
whichever is lower, is provided for development of the shared infrastructure of the solar parks. Beside
this, CFA of up to Rs. 25 lakh per solar park is provided for preparation of Detailed Project Report
(DPR).
(e) The primary challenges in integrating renewable energy into the grid are intermittency in
Renewable Energy generation, land acquisition and local clearances etc.
