Parliament Question: Investigation on Flight Crash Incident

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CIVIL AVIATION LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. : 3270 ( TO BE ANSWERED ON THE 12th March 2026 ) INVESTIGATION ON FLIGHT CRASH INCIDENT 3270. SHRI ANTO ANTONY Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:- (a) whether the Government has constituted any enquiry or investigation in connection with the recent flight accident involving the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and if so, the details thereof; (b) whether the enquiry has been completed in this regard and if so, the key findings and recommendations thereof; (c) whether any lapses, procedural violations, or safety deficiencies were identified in the enquiry and if so, the details thereof; (d) whether there was any delay in constituting the enquiry committee after the incident and if so, the reasons therefor; and (e) whether any action has been taken/is proposed to be taken based on the findings of the enquiry and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar Mohol) (a) to (e): An investigation has been ordered by Director General (DG), Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) to enquire into the cause of accident of Learjet 45XR aircraft bearing registration VT0SSK at Baramati on 28.01.2026. A preliminary report on the accident has been published by AAIB on 28.02.2026 and is available on their website www.aaib.gov.in. Based on the available information and initial findings, interim recommendations have been issued by AAIB in the preliminary report. The investigation is under progress. All probable causes leading to the accident are being investigated. The final investigation report will be published after completion of the investigation. ******
