Will the Minister of FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:
(a) the number of applications approved under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme in
various segments along with the number of approved projects that have started commercial
production and the percentage of projects that have achieved their committed investment
milestones, State-wise including Andhra Pradesh;
(b) the criteria used for selecting food processing companies for receiving PLI disbursements under
PLI scheme;
(c) whether any company from Andhra Pradesh have been selected and if so, the details thereof;
(d) the monitoring mechanisms set up to ensure compliance with regard to minimum sales and
investment limit required for claiming PLI benefits;
(e) whether the Government has observed regional disparities in sanctioned investments under the
scheme particularly in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States with low-processing capacities such
as Bihar, Odisha and the North Eastern region;
(f) if so, the corrective measures planned/being planned to address such disparities; and
(g) whether cold storage or related infrastructure have been constructed under PLI scheme in Andhra
Pradesh and if so, the district-wise details thereof?

(a): Under Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI), 170
applications with 278 projects have been approved, of which 277 projects have started commercial
production. The committed investment approved under the scheme is Rs.7644.27 crore against which the
actual investment is Rs.9032.11 crore, which is 118 % of the committed investment. The state wise details
of units approved under the PLISFPI are at Annexure-I.
(b): The criteria used for selecting food-processing companies under PLISFPI is at Annexure-II.
(c): The details of the companies selected under PLISFPI in Andhra Pradesh are at Annexure-III.
(d): A Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including certificates from Statutory Auditor and Charted
Engineers have been prescribed to ensure compliance with the minimum sales and investment required
for claiming PLI incentives.
(e) & (f): There are 278 food processing units approved under the PLI Scheme, which are fairly spread
across 22 states of India.
(g): An investment of Rs.1257.47 crore have been made in Andhra Pradesh under PLISFPI. The district
wise details of investment made in Andhra Pradesh in food processing infrastructure including cold
storage facilities under PLISFPI are at Annexure- III.
