(a). Under the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI),
cumulative investment of ₹9,207 crore has been made by the approved applicants.
(b). 25 Mega Food Parks approved by MoFPI are operational across the country. State/Union
Territories-wise details of these Parks are at Annexure-I.
(c). As part of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan - Vocal for Local Initiative in food processing
sector, Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is implementing a centrally sponsored
"PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme" for providing
financial, technical and business support for setting up / upgradation of micro food processing
enterprises in the country. The scheme primarily adopts One District One Product (ODOP)
approach aimed at fostering balanced regional development across all districts of the country.
The initiative aims to select, brand, and promote at least One Product from each District (One
District One Product) of the country for enabling holistic socio-economic growth across all
regions. Under the ODOP initiative, products have been selected by States/UTs by taking into
consideration the existing ecosystem on the ground in the Districts. ODOP have been approved
for 726 Districts across 35 States/ UTs under the Scheme. The details of financial assistance
offered to promote ODOP products under PMFME Scheme are at Annexure-II.
MoFPI hosted the fourth edition of ‘World Food India’ from 25th September to 28th
September, 2025 in New Delhi. With participation from numerous international exhibitors, this
event provided a platform for the ODOP-based food products to showcase and promote ODOP
products among domestic and international buyers. In addition, ODOP products are promoted
through various national / international exhibitions / fairs.
Further, the Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority
(APEDA), under the administrative control of the Department of Commerce, has the mandate
to promote export of agricultural products from India. APEDA provides assistance to its
registered exporters under Agriculture & Processed Food Export Promotion Scheme. The
assistance is provided under various components of the schemes viz. Infrastructure
Development, Quality Development and Market Development.

QUESTION NO. 78 FOR ANSWER ON 04.12.2025 REGARDING “INVESTMENT
UNDER PLI SCHEME FOR FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRY”
The details of financial assistance offered to promote ODOP products under Pradhan Mantri
Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme are as under:
(i). Support to Individual / Group Category Micro Enterprises: Credit-linked capital
subsidy @35% of the eligible project cost, maximum ceiling Rs.10 lakh per unit;
(ii). Support to Self Help Groups (SHG) for seed capital: Seed capital @ Rs. 40,000/-
per member of SHG engaged in food processing for working capital and purchase of
small tools subject to maximum of Rs. 4 lakh per SHG Federation.
(iii). Support for Common Infrastructure: Credit linked capital subsidy @35% subject
to maximum of Rs. 3 crore to support Farmer Producer Organisations (FPO), SHGs,
Cooperatives and any Government agency for setting up of common infrastructure.
The common infrastructure will also be available for other units and public to utilize
on hiring basis for substantial part of the capacity.
(iv). Branding and Marketing Support: Grant upto 50% for Branding and Marketing
to groups of FPOs/ SHGs/ Cooperatives or an Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of micro
food processing enterprises.
(v). Capacity Building: The scheme offers training for Entrepreneurship Development
Skilling (EDP) to meet the requirement of food processing industry and product
specific skilling.
