Jan Aushadhi Kendras in Assam
2201. Shri Gaurav Gogoi:
Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state:
(a) the number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras (JAKs) currently operational in Assam, district-wise;
(b) the number of districts having no JAKs in the said State till date;
(c) the number of JAKs specifically located within/adjacent to tea estate areas in plantation districts
of the said State; and
(d) the total value of medicines sold through these Kendras in the said State during the last five
years, district-wise?
ANSWER

(a) and (b): Under Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana scheme, a total of 202 Jan
Aushadhi Kendras have been opened in the State of Assam as on 30.06.2026. The district-wise
number of JAKs opened is at Annexure. 3 districts viz. Bajali, Tamulpur and West Karbi Anglong
in the State of Assam do not have any operational Jan Aushadhi Kendra.
(c): No such data of Jan Aushadhi kendras are maintained specifically for tea estate areas.
(d): Financial year-wise details of sales of Jan Aushadhi medicines being sold through Jan
Aushadhi Kendras in the State of Assam during the last five financial years are as under:-
