Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the details and number of villages in Karauli-Dholpur are not
covered so far under Pradhan Mantri Gram SadakYojana
(PMGSY); and
(b) the details thereof, district-wise?

(a) & (b): Pradhan Mantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY) was
launched as a one-time special intervention to provide rural
connectivity, by way of a single all-weather road, to the eligible
unconnected habitations of designated population size as laid in the
extant programme guidelines. The scheme has completed its
timeline for sanctioning of road projects under PMGSY-I, II and III.
The unit for PMGSY is a habitation and not a village. Under PMGSY,
road projects are sanctioned based on the project proposal received
from the respective States/UTs and after due scrutiny as per
programme guidelines.

The total number of habitations connected so far under
PMGSY in the district Karauli is 250, and in the district Dholpur is
236.
Further, the Government has launched a new vertical Pradhan
Mantri Gram SadakYojana–IV (PMGSY-IV) in September 2024, which
aims to construct 62,500 km of all-weather roads to provide
connectivity to approximately 25,000 eligible unconnected
habitations. These include habitations with population 500+ in
plains, 250+ in North Eastern and Hill States/UTs, special category
areas (such as Tribal Schedule V areas, Aspirational
Districts/Blocks, and Desert areas), and 100+ in Left Wing
Extremism (LWE) affected districts, as per Census 2011.
In the districts of Karauli and Dholpur, the State Government
has mapped 7 and 1 habitations respectively as unconnected
habitations. Road projects to be sanctioned based on the proposal
received from the State, and after due scrutiny as laid out in the
guidelines of the PMGSY.
