KAUSHAL VIKAS KENDRAS IN ANDHRA PRADESH
203. SHRI DAGGUMALLA PRASADA RAO:
Will the Minister of SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP be pleased to
state:
(a) the total number of Kaushal Vikas Kendras (KVKs) established in Andhra Pradesh under
the Skill India Mission during the last five years and the current year, year/district-wise along
with number of youth trained each year;
(b) the budget allocation and expenditure on KVKs during the last five years and the current
year;
(c) the details of the training programmes on advanced digital skills and AI introduced in the
said State; and
(d) the steps taken by the Government to improve KVK infrastructure and capacity to meet
the growing demand in emerging sectors?

(a) Under the Government of India’s Skill India Mission (SIM) , the Ministry of Skill
Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) delivers skill, re-skill and up-skill training through
an extensive network of skill development centres under various schemes, viz. Pradhan Mantri
Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) scheme, National
Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) and Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) through
Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), to all the sections of the society across the country. The SIM
aims at enabling the youth of India to get future-ready, equipped with industry-relevant skills.
The Schemes of MSDE are demand-driven driven and the Training Centres are set up or
engaged on need basis. The total number of Skill Development Centres (SDCs) established in
Andhra Pradesh, along with youth trained during the last five years and the current year, year-
wise under PMKVY, JSS & CTS Schemes, is given at Annexure I.
(b) Funds under PMKVY and JSS schemes are released to implementing agencies for
meeting the training cost as per prescribed norms. Under NAPS, stipend support up to ₹ 1500/-
per month is released to apprentices through DBT. Day-to-day administration as well as financial
control in respect of ITIs lies with the respective State Government/ UT Administration.
Details of budget allocation and expenditure under PMKVY and JSS schemes on SDCs of
Andhra Pradesh during the last five years and the current year are at Annexure- II.
(c) Advanced digital skills and Artificial Intelligence (AI) related training form an important
component of the Skill India Mission. In Andhra Pradesh, PMKVY training centres/Skill
Development Centre have been offering job roles in IT-ITeS and AI-related domains in alignment
with National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) compliant Qualification Packs. These
courses are developed and periodically updated in consultation with the relevant Sector Skill
Councils and industry partners to reflect emerging technologies and labour-market demand andare anchored in the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) and operate under the
regulatory oversight of NCVET. The details of the training programmes are as under:-
(i) A total number of 2,209 candidates have been trained/oriented in AI-specific job roles
such as AI – Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Engineer, Data Scientist, Machine
Learning Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Solution Architect, Database Administrator, and
Pharmacovigilance Case Processing using AI tools and 1,143 candidates have been
certified.
(ii) A total number of 42,789 candidates have been trained/oriented in the broader IT/digital
domain (including web and mobile application development, domestic data entry, CRM,
domestic IT helpdesk, junior software developer, cloud and IoT-related roles, etc.)
and 27,446 candidates have been certified.
(d) The Government has taken several steps to strengthen SDC infrastructure and capacity
to meet the growing demand in emerging sectors, including digital and AI-driven domains, inter
alia:
1. Modern digital labs, sector-specific equipment, and digital learning platforms have been
introduced or strengthened in SDCs to support hands-on learning.
2. Regular updates are undertaken to ensure that courses align with national standards and
the requirements of Industry 4.0 and India’s digital economy.
3. Enhanced partnerships with industry facilitate on-the-job training, real-time assessments,
and industry feedback, thereby improving employability outcomes.
4. Special initiatives are undertaken to extend future-skills training to rural and semi-urban
youth, with focused efforts for women, SC/ST candidates, and aspirational districts.
5. The Government conducts periodic audits, feedback assessments, and capacity-building
programmes for trainers and staff to ensure sustained quality and adaptability.
These reforms collectively enhance the capacity of training centres in India, including Andhra
Pradesh to deliver relevant, high-quality training and to respond proactively to labour-market
needs and emerging sectoral opportunities.ANNEXURE I
