SHRI ROBERT BRUCE C Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state:- (a) the details of the number of reactors operational at the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP); (b) the details of the present total power output and the individual power output of each functioning reactor of KKNPP; (c) the present power share to the States from the KKNPP and the future power share; and (d) whether the Government proposes to operationalise additional reactor units and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES & PENSIONS AND PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE (DR. JITENDRA SINGH) (a) Presently, two units i.e., KKNPP-1&2 are operational at the Kudankulam Site. (b) The total power output from the operational units at KKNPP is 2000 MW comprising of KKNPP, Unit-1&2 (2 x 1000 MW). (c) The power generated by central sector power generating stations is allocated to the beneficiary states and union territories in the electricity region by the Ministry of Power (MoP) as per laid down norms. Accordingly, the power from KKNPP - 1&2 (2x1000 MW) has been allocated as follows: State Allocation in MW Karnataka 442 Kerala 266 Tamil Nadu 925 Puducherry 67 Unallocated 300With regard to the allocation of power from upcoming units i.e., KKNPP-3&4 (2X1000 MW) & KKNPP-5&6 (2X1000 MW), Ministry of Power will take a decision at an appropriate time. (d) Yes.
