Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:
(a) the number of Khadi and village artisans registered and trained in Andhra Pradesh under
various KVIC schemes during the current year, along with details of funds released and production
outcomes;
(b) the impact of the “Vocal for Local” initiative on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
(MSMEs) and Khadi units in Andhra Pradesh, including employment generated and reasons for
limited gains in rural or coastal districts;
(c) whether the Government proposes to introduce post-2025 measures such as dedicated
“Swadeshi Zones” or fairs in Andhra Pradesh to promote Khadi, handloom, coir and MSME products;
and
(d) if so, the details thereof, including timelines, central assistance provided and coordination with
the Andhra Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board for implementation?

(a): Khadi and Gramodyog Vikas Yojana (KGVY), a Central Sector Scheme is being implemented
by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) for the development of Khadi and Village
Industries Sector which consists two components i.e Khadi Vikas Yojana (KVY) and Gramodyog
Vikas Yojana (GVY).
U nder Khadi Vikas Yojana (KVY), 8368 number (cumulative) of Khadi artisans are engaged in
Andhra Pradesh. Total fund of Rs. 3.80 crore has been provided during the current year i.e 2025-
26(upto 31.10.2025) under KVY in Andhra Pradesh.
Under Gramodyog Vikas Yojana (GVY), 500 artisans have been benefited and total fund of Rs.
1.11 crore has been provided during the current year i.e 2025-26 (upto 31.10.2025) in Andhra Pradesh.
As per information available from KVIC,the production of Khadi and Village Industries in Andhra
Pradesh was Rs. 5038.14 crore (P) in FY 2024-25.
( b): KVIC organized a series of programmes in the spirit of “Vocal for Local”from 2nd Oct. to
31stOct. 2025, including Khadi Mahotsav, Khadi Yatras, Special sales campaigns, exhibitions,
Swadeshi awareness drives, and various activities across academic institutions to engage and sensitize
the public and youth. These initiatives created a positive impact by promoting Khadi and strengthening
the Swadeshi/Make in India movement among youth, the general public and other stakeholders.: 2 :
Further, Khadi institutions (KIs) operating in the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh have been
actively contributing to rural employment generation. Four KIs in Srikakulam district and five KIs in
East Godavari district are functioning and providing sustainable employment opportunities to rural
artisans.
(c) & (d): No specific ‘Swadeshi Zones’ or fairs have been proposed in Andhra Pradesh.
However, KVIC continues to promote Khadi and Village Industries products by organizing State-
Level Exhibitions and other Exhibitions at prominent locations across Andhra Pradesh, in coordination
with the Andhra Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board (APKVIB). During FY 2025-26, 30
exhibitions have been organized by KVIC upto 31.10.2025 in Andhra Pradesh.
