(a) the steps taken by the Government for the implementation of the Livestock Health and
Disease Control (LH&DC) Programme in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli
and Daman and Diu;
(b) the amount of funds allocated under the LH&DC Programme to the Union Territory of
Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, including the total allocation of funds for
the entire Union Territory as well as the amount allocated to Daman and Diu so far; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government to strengthen prophylactic vaccination, disease
surveillance and veterinary infrastructure in the entire Union Territory or in Daman and
Diu?

(a) to (c) Department of Animal Husbandry& Dairying (DAHD) GOI is implementing the
Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme (LHDCP) Scheme, in all States/UTs
including Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. The steps taken for
implementation are as follows:
i. For prevention and control of Livestock Disease through, Universal Vaccination
Programme for 4 major diseases, namely Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD),
Brucellosis, Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) and Classical Swine Fever (CSF),
100% support of Govt. of India is provided. Procurement of quality vaccine is
done Centrally and supplied to the respective States/UTs.
ii. Financial support is provided for procurement of vaccination accessories,
strengthening of cold chain infrastructure for maintaining quality of
vaccination.
iii. Under Assistance to States for Control of Animal Diseases (ASCAD) support is
provided on sharing basis for prevention and control of state prioritized
livestock diseases, strengthening of Disease Diagnostic Laboratories etc.
iv. Guidelines for minimum standards of Veterinary Infrastructure in India has been
framed and communicated to States/UT with the request for adoption and
necessary action
v. Data related to registration of livestock and vaccination is uploaded on Bharat
Pashudhan portal for effective monitoring and co-ordination.
vi. The total allocation of funds under Livestock Health and Disease Control
Programme (LHDCP) for the entire Union Territories including Dadra & Nagar
