MANNA LAL RAWAT: Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government proposes to set up more EMRSs in the near future and if so, the details thereof along with the details of the locations identified for setting up new EMRSs, State- wise, particularly Andhra Pradesh and the timeline fixed for their completion and operationalisation; (b) the details of the funds allocated and disbursed for construction of EMRSs, State-wise; (c) whether the Government proposes to set up new EMRSs in the tribal-dominated districts of Rajasthan, particularly in Udaipur, Salumbar, Pratapgarh and Dungarpur and if so, the details and current status thereof, location-wise; (d) whether the Government has any plans to introduce special preparatory courses or coaching within EMRSS for competitive examinations such as NEET, IIT-JEE, CUET and others to enhance access to higher education for tribal students and if so, the details thereof; and (e) the number of EMRSs where such programmes have been implemented and the agencies or organisations engaged for the same? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR TRIBAL AFFAIRS (SHRI DURGADAS UIKEY) (a): No such proposal is under consideration at present. (b): National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS), an autonomous organization, has been established to manage and implement the scheme of Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) in co-ordination with State EMRS Societies. Funds are released to NESTS by Ministry and NESTS further releases funds to States/ UTs/ PSUs/ Construction Agencies/ State Societies as per their requirements for construction of EMRSs and recurring cost for running of the schools. The details of state wise fund released for construction for EMRS as reported by NESTS is at Annexure-I.(c): Udaipur and Salumbar districts in Rajasthan have 8 approved EMRSs. Similarly, In Pratapgarh and Dungarpur districts each have 4 approved EMRSs. Further, no new proposal is under consideration at present. (d) and (e): MoTA through NESTS has made provision of special preparatory courses and coaching programmes within Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) to support tribal students in preparing for competitive examinations such as NEET, IIT-JEE, and CUET, thereby enhancing their access to higher education. At present, Centre of Excellence (CoEs) are operational in 3 EMRSs.
