GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICALS RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION No. 2735 TO BE ANSWERED ON THE 17TH MARCH 2026 Medical device park 2735 # Shri Neeraj Dangi: Will the Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers be pleased to state: (a) whether it is a fact that 70 per cent of the consumption of medical devices, surgical supplies and equipment is met through imports; (b) if so, the details of goods imported in the last two years; (c) whether Government has any proposal to set up medical device parks in the States, particularly in Rajasthan; and (d) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS (SMT. ANUPRIYA PATEL) (a) & (b): No, Sir. Imports constitute around 60% of the domestic consumption of medical devices. No such proposal is currently under consideration of the Department of Pharmaceuticals to set up a medical device park in the State of Rajasthan. ******
