ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES (SHRI RAVNEET SINGH) (a) to (d) The Ministry of Food Processing Industries has been implementing Mega Food Park scheme (MFPS), a component scheme of Pradhan Mantra Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMSKY) for creating modern infrastructure for the food processing sector along the value chain from farm to market. The scheme has been discontinued by the Government w.e.f. 01.04.2021 with provision for committed liabilities during 15th Finance Commission cycle. Two projects have been sanctioned in the state of Karnataka. The details of status of the Mega Food Parks approved under MFP scheme in Karnataka State are at Annexure. The Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of M/s Integrated Food Park Ltd Tumkur, Karnataka which is operational have made an investment of ₹280.4 crore. In addition, so far, investments worth around ₹270 crore have been received and investment of ₹85 crore is estimated to be received in the near future. The project has generated direct and indirect employment for 4,000 individuals to date. Mega Food Park (MFP) provides modern infrastructure facilities for the food processing along the value chain from the farm to the market with a cluster based approach based on a hub and spokes model. It includes creation of infrastructure for primary processing and storage near the farm in the form of Primary Processing Centres (PPCs) and Collection Centres (CCs) and common facilities and enabling infrastructure at Central Processing Centre (CPC). These PPCs and CCs act as aggregation and storage points to feed raw materials to the processing units located in the CPC.
