SHRI PATEL UMESHBHAI BABUBHAI: Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS सड़क परिवहन औि िाजमार्ग मंत्री be pleased to state: (a) whether, as per the notification dated 19.12.219 of the Ministry, separate Member of Parliaments' Road Safety Committees have been constituted in the Daman and Diu districts and if so, the details thereof; (b) whether the Daman and Diu Administration has issued any notification in this regard and if so, the details thereof; if not, the reasons therefor; (c) the total number of said committee meetings held so far in both the above districts; including the dates of the meetings held; (d) whether any resolutions were passed by these committees in their meetings and if so, the details thereof, including copies of the resolutions and the dates on which they were passed; (e) whether no meeting of these committees has been held so far and if so, the reasons therefor ; and (f) whether non convening of the meetings is a violation of the above- mentioned notification and if so, the action taken thereon? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a) to (f) The Government in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways vide its notification No. RT-25043/03/2017-RS dated 19.12.2019, constituted Member of Parliaments’ Road Safety Committees (MPRSCs) in each district of the country under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from the district. If the district has more than one Member of Parliament (M.P.), then the senior most M.P. would be the Chairman of the Committee. The Committee will meet at least once in a quarter or at such frequency as it may decide. The District Collector has beendesignated as the Member Secretary of the Committee. A portal for uploading of minutes of the meetings of the Committees has also been developed by the Government. As per the information available with the Ministry, the administration of Daman and Diu has not reported convening any meetings of the said committees in either of the districts. However, the administration of Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu has informed that the meetings of UT Level State Road Safety Council is held regularly. *****
