THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS

(a) & (b) In the wake of the recent Israel-Iran conflict, India urged both
sides to avoid any escalatory steps and to utilise existing channels of
dialogue and diplomacy to work towards de-escalation of the situation
and resolving the underlying issues.
India welcomed the ceasefire between Israel and Iran agreed on 24 June
2025 and reiterated that there is no alternative to dialogue and
1diplomacy in order to address and resolve the multiple conflicts in the
region and that India stands ready to play its part in these efforts.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi spoke to the Prime Minister of Israel
H.E. Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu on 13 June 2025 and shared India’s
concern and emphasized the need for early restoration of peace and
stability in the region. Prime Minister also spoke to the President of Iran
H.E. Mr. Masoud Pezeshkian on 22 June 2025 and stressed immediate de-
escalation, dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward. PM reiterated
India’s support for early restoration of regional peace, security and
stability.
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also spoke with Foreign
Minister of Israel H.E. Mr. Gideon Sa’ar on 13 June 2025 and Foreign
