MONETISATION OF BSNL PROPERTIES IN WEST BENGAL
3053 SHRI SAMIK BHATTACHARYA:
Will the Minister of Communications be pleased to state:
(a) the number of BSNL land parcels, buildings and other immovable assets identified for
monetisation in West Bengal, district-wise;
(b) the status of premium BSNL land located in Hastings area of Kolkata, including its valuation,
tender history and expected timeline for disposal;
(c) the number of assets already sold, leased, under process or otherwise monetised during the
last five years, along with the details of revenue realised;
(d) whether the process of asset monetisation in the State has been delayed due to lack of bidders,
valuation disputes, legal encumbrances or State-level clearances; and
(e) the time-bound roadmap for monetisation of remaining BSNL assets in the State?

(a) The total no. of approved assets in West Bengal for monetization are as follows:

(b) The BSNL land identified for monetization near Hastings in Kolkata is Telecom Factory at
Alipore. The valuation for monetization is done by the National Land Monetization Corporation
(NLMC).
1(c) One land parcel and 41 buildings of BSNL in the state of West Bengal have been leased out
in last five years and total revenue realized is nearly Rs.67.8 Cr.
(d) Yes, sir.
(e) Monetization of assets of BSNL is on need basis and an ongoing process.
