SHRI ANAND BHADAURIA: Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ(cid:874)ष एवं (cid:873)कसान क(cid:227)याण म(cid:287)ं ी be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government would include banana along with other foodgrains under Minimum Support Price (MSP) announced by CACP; (b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; (c) whether the Government has taken/would take any measure to provide marketing facilities for banana farmers; (d) if so, the details thereof, State-wise with particular reference to Sitapur and LakhimpurKhiri districts in UP; and (e) if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ(cid:874)ष एवं (cid:873)कसान क(cid:227)याण रा(cid:207)य म(cid:287)ं ी (SHRI RAMNATH THAKUR) (a): No Sir. (b): Question does not arise. (c) to (e): Government is implementing the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH),Centrally Sponsored Scheme for holistic development of the horticulture sector in the country. Under MIDH, institutional, technical and extension support is provided to assist farmers in the adoption ofprotected cultivation technologies. Such support is provided through State Horticulture Missions, TechnicalSupport Groups (TSGs), Precision Farming Development Centres (PFDCs), Centres of Excellence (CoEs), ICAR Institutes, State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and other recognised institutions.As per information received from State Government, Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) is being implemented in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Sitapur and Lakhimpur Kheri. The marketing-related components available to farmers under the scheme are as follows: i. Non-Pressurized and Pressurized Ripening Chambers – Credit-linked back- ended subsidy at 35% of the project cost is provided to eligible beneficiaries. ii. Static / Mobile Vending Cart/Platform with Cool Chamber – Subsidy of 50% of the total project cost is provided to eligible beneficiaries. iii. Modified Retail Reefer Van with Retail Counter (to be linked with an Integrated Pack House) – Credit-linked back-ended subsidy at 35% of the project cost is provided to eligible beneficiaries. Government also implements Market Intervention Scheme (MIS), a component under PM-AASHA, for procurement of agricultural and horticultural commodities, which are perishable in nature and are not covered under the Price Support Scheme (PSS). The objective of intervention is to protect the growers of these commodities from making distress sale in the event of a bumper crop during the peak arrival period when the prices tend to fall below economic levels and the cost of production. There should be at least a 10 percent decrease in the ruling market prices over the previous normal year. The scheme is implemented at the request of a State/UT government. ******
