SHRI B K PARTHASARATHI: SHRI BASTIPATI NAGARAJU: Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state: (a) the details of the capacity building and training projects undertaken by the National e- Governance Division (NeGD) specifically in Andhra Pradesh in the recent years; (b) whether the Government has plans to host more such capacity building and training programmes in Andhra Pradesh and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; (c) the details of the number of new capacity building projects planned for the said State; (d) whether the Government proposes to make such programmes an annual or regular training initiative and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and (e) the details of the funds allocated or proposed to be allocated for these capacity building initiatives in Andhra Pradesh? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI JITIN PRASADA) (a) to (e): The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), is responsible for conducting capacity building and training programmes to strengthen digital governance capabilities at all levels of government. These initiatives focus on enhancing the skills of government officials through advanced, role-specific, and technology-oriented training. Between December 2023 and July 2025, NeGD conducted eight such programmes in Andhra Pradesh, hosted at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Visakhapatnam and the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics (NACIN), Palasamudram. The programmes which were conducted included: • Three programmes on Managing Large Digital Transformation Projects for central and state government officers responsible for overseeing and implementing digital transformation and digital governance initiatives; • Three programmes on Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for officers managing projects involving emerging technologies; • Two programmes on IT Project Management & e-Governance.Since December 2023, four training programmes are being conducted each year at IIM Visakhapatnam, for next three years.
