GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 3128 TO BE ANSWERED ON: 11.03.2026 NATIONAL POLICY OF SOFTWARE PRODUCT 3128. SHRI PRABHAKAR REDDY VEMIREDDY: Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS and INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state: (a) the details regarding the present status of programmes under the National Policy on Software Products, 2019 (NPSP) such as FutureSkills Prime, NGIS, SAMRIDH, GENESIS, TIDE 2.0, Digi- SAPNE and BHASHINI; (b) the details regarding the total number of beneficiaries of above specified programmes during the last five years programme, State and district-wise especially in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh; (c) the details regarding the total amount of funds allocated, released and utilised for implementing NPSP across the country during the last five years, programme, State and district-wise especially in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh; (d) the details regarding the list of Centres of Entrepreneurship proposed, selected and presently functional across the country, State and district-wise in Andhra Pradesh; and (e) whether the Government has undertaken any activities/campaigns to increase awareness regarding the programs under NPSP and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI JITIN PRASADA) (a) to (e): The National Policy on Software Products (NPSP), 2019 has played a significant role in transforming India’s IT sector from a service-led industry to a product-driven digital economy. The policy aims to position India as a global hub for software products, promote Intellectual Property (IP) creation, and boost domestic demand and exports of software products. To achieve the objectives of NPSP, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has initiated the following key programmes: Initiative Brief StatusFutureSkills Re-skilling/ up-skilling of IT More than 27.53 lakh candidates have Prime professionals in new/emerging registered on the FutureSkills Prime portal technologies including AR/VR, (https://futureskillsprime.in), out of which Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data over 17.2 lakh candidates have enrolled/ Analytics, Artificial Intelligence trained in various courses. These include workshops, expert talks and webinars, innovation and hackathon challenges, collaboration with industry bodies and academic institutions, promotion through official portals and social media platforms, participation in startup and technology events and targeted outreach in Tier-II and Tier-III cities. These efforts are ongoing to further enhance awareness and participation across the country. ******
