NATIONAL TECHNICAL TEXTILE MISSION
2820. SHRI DILESHWAR KAMAIT:
Will the Minister of TEXTILES वस्त्र मंत्री
be pleased to state :
(a) the details regarding amount of funds disbursed by the Government under National Technical Textile
Mission as of December 2025;
(b) the details regarding number of approved Research & Development projects in speciality fibre and
applications as on December 2025;
(c) the details regarding amount of funds allocated for the above approved projects;
(d) whether start-ups have been approved under the mission; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a): With a view to boost the technical textiles sector in the country, the National Technical Textiles
Mission (NTTM) was launched in the year 2020 with a total outlay of Rs. 1,480 crore. Under the
Mission, an amount of Rs. 517.96 crore has been released as of December 2025.
(b) & (c): A total of 168 research projects have been approved under NTTM upto December 2025,
of which 33 projects at a cost of Rs 150.80 crore have been approved in the field of speciality fibres and
their applications.
(d) & (e): Under NTTM, a dedicated intervention titled “Grant for Research and Entrepreneurship
across Aspiring Innovators in Technical Textiles (GREAT)” has been implemented with an objective to
support start-up ecosystem of Technical Textiles in the country by assisting young innovators,
scientists/technologists, and start-up ventures in the field of Technical Textiles to translate their ideas
into commercial technologies/products. Under the GREAT guidelines, a maximum support of Rs. 50
lakh is provided to each approved start-up. A total of 31 Start-ups have been approved under NTTM at a
cost of Rs. 15.40 crore.
