However, under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the National Ayush Mission (NAM), there is a provision for financial assistance to State/UT Governments for the establishment of new AYUSH colleges, including Ayurveda, in States/UTs where the availability of Ayush teaching institutions in the Government sector is inadequate. Accordingly, States/UTs may avail themselves of such financial assistance by submitting suitable proposals through their State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs), in accordance with NAM guidelines. Further, the Government of Uttarakhand has not submitted any proposal for the establishment of a new Ayurvedic educational institution through SAAPs The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) an autonomus organisation operates key research activities across the Country including with State of Uttarakhand through its peripheral unit, namely the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI) located in Ranikhet (Tarikhet). At present, there is no proposal for the establishment of a new research institute in Uttarakhand. The establishment of a new AYUSH University in any State comes under the domain of the concerned State Government. *****
