New AYUSH Institutions in Kolar, Karnataka
4711. Shri M Mallesh Babu:
Will the Minister of AYUSH
(a) whether the Government has implemented the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) in Kolar
district of Karnataka and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the details of AYUSH hospitals, dispensaries and Health and Wellness Centres sanctioned,
approved and made functional under NAM in Kolar district since its inception;
(c) the total funds allocated, released and utilised under the National AYUSH Mission for Kolar
district during the last five years, year-wise;
(d) whether any proposals for upgradation of existing AYUSH facilities or establishment of
new AYUSH Institutions in Kolar district are pending with the Government and if so, the
details thereof; and
(e) the steps taken by the Government to strengthen AYUSH infrastructure and services in
Kolar district?

(a) & (b) Ministry of Ayush is implementing Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush
Mission (NAM) through State/UT Governments for overall development & promotion of
Ayush system by providing financial assistance under different activities in the country
including Kolar District in Karnataka. Under NAM, financial assistance is being provided to
States/UTs including Kolar District in Karnataka for different activities as per the provision of
NAM guidelines against their submitted proposals through State Annual Action Plans
(SAAPs).
1Under NAM, as per the proposals received from State Government of Karnataka
through SAAPs, 02 units for upgradation of Ayush Hospitals and 04 units of Ayush Health
and Wellness Centres now known as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (Ayush) have been supported,
and as reported by State Government all these units are made functional in Kolar District since
its inception. State Government has not submitted any proposal for establishment of Integrated
Ayush Hospitals (IAHs) and establishment for Ayush dispensaries for Kolar District in
Karnataka through SAAPs.
(c) Under NAM, the year-wise status of funds allocated/released and utilized for the State
Government of Karnataka including Kolar district during the last five years is furnished at
Annexure. The Ministry provides funds on a State/UT-wise and no District/Unit-wise fund is
allocated by the Ministry.
(d) At present no proposals for upgradation of existing Ayush facilities or establishment of new
Ayush Institutions in Kolar district are pending with the Government.
(e) Public health being a State subject, implementation of the NAM Scheme activities falls
under the jurisdiction of the respective State Government. As reported by State Government,
several steps has been taken to strengthen Ayush infrastructure and services in Kolar district,
including:
1. Upgradation of existing Ayush hospitals.
2. Establishment of Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) under Ayushman Bharat.
3. Supply of essential Ayush medicines and equipment to Government Ayush health care
facilities.
4. Deployment of Ayush doctors and paramedical staff to Ayush upgraded Ayush Hospital.
5. Implementation of Ayush public health programmes and wellness activities including
Yoga.
