SHRI MILIND MURLI DEORA: Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE be pleased to state: (a) whether new schemes have been launched to improve self-reliance in seed and nutrition in 100 identified districts; (b) the criteria used for selection of such districts; (c) the targeted increase in pulses and oilseed production; and (d) the provisions for training and capacity-building of small and marginal farmers under these schemes? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE (SHRI RAM NATH THAKUR) (a): The Prime Minister Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (DDKY) was launched on 11th October, 2025 in selected 100 districts. The scheme aims to enhance agricultural productivity, increase adoption of crop diversification and sustainable agricultural practices, augment post-harvest storage at the panchayat and block levels, improve irrigation facilities and facilitate availability of long-term and short-term credit. (b): DDKY districts were selected on the basis of low crop productivity, less cropping intensity and limited access to credit. (c) & (d): DDKY districts formulate District Action Plan (DAP) factoring in local situation, challenges & potential. National Mission on Aatmanirbharta in Pulses & National Mission on Edible Oils - Oilseeds are included in the 36 Central schemes for convergence in DDKY districts. Capacity building, area expansion & other activities of both the Missions would be based on DAP finalized by District DDKY Samiti. *****
