ODF STATUS IN SC/ST MAJORITY VILLAGES
6348. SMT. RACHNA BANERJEE:
Will the Minister of JAL SHAKTI be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Ministry maintains data on the number of villages with Scheduled
Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) majority population that have been declared Open Defecation
Free (ODF), if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and
(b) whether it is a fact that the Manipur has less than three per cent ODF plus villages, if so,
the details thereof?
ANSWER

(a) Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation does not maintain data on the number of
villages with SC/ST majority population that have been declared Open Defecation Free (ODF).
(b) No Sir. Under Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen [SBM(G)] Phase-II, as per data recorded
by the State on the Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) of SBM(G), out of
identified 2,567 villages, 78 villages (3.03%) have been declared Open Defecation Free (ODF)
Plus in the State of Manipur, as on 30.03.2026. Further, 26 villages have been declared as ODF
Plus (Model) in the State.
