Will the Minister of FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:
(a) whether all the districts of Uttar Pradesh are implementing the One District One Product
(ODOP) scheme and if so, the details thereof, district-wise;
(b) if not, the reasons therefor and the time by which each district in the State is likely to
implement this scheme;
(c) the employment potential for youth under ODOP scheme in Uttar Pradesh;
(d) the number of agricultural products identified as ODOP in Lalganj and Azamgarh Lok
Sabha Constituencies of Uttar Pradesh and approved under the Pradhan Mantri
Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme; and
(e) the nature of financial, technical and business assistance being provided to the youth for
setting up and upgradation of micro food processing enterprises under the said scheme?

(a) & (b): The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is implementing a centrally
sponsored scheme "PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME)"
for providing financial, technical and business support for setting up of new/ upgradation
of micro food processing enterprises in the country including Uttar Pradesh.
The Scheme primarily adopts One District One Product (ODOP) approach. The ODOPs
are identified by States / UT Government based on agriculture production, raw material
availability, presence of micro-food processing enterprises, SHGs /FPOs/ Cooperative/
micro-enterprises engaged in processing of ODOP, perishability of the product etc.
ODOP has been approved for all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh under PMFME Scheme as
per the details at Annexure-I.
(c): 53,454 direct and indirect employment has been generated under the PMFME Scheme
in the State of Uttar Pradesh till 30th June 2025.
(d): Basil based Products have been identified as ODOP for Azamgarh district including
Lalganj under the PMFME Scheme.
(e): The details of support available to eligible organizations including youths for setting
up of new and upgradation of micro food processing enterprises in the country including
Uttar Pradesh under the PMFME Scheme are at Annexure-II.

The details of support available under Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food
Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme are as under:
(i). Support to Individual / Group Category Micro Enterprises: Credit-linked capital
subsidy @35% of the eligible project cost, maximum ceiling Rs.10 lakh per unit;
(ii). Support to SHGs for seed capital: Seed capital @ Rs. 40,000/- per member of
SHG engaged in food processing for working capital and purchase of small tools
subject to maximum of Rs. 4 lakh per SHG Federation.
(iii). Support for Common Infrastructure: Credit linked capital subsidy @35%
subject to maximum of Rs. 3 crore to support FPOs, SHGs, Cooperatives and any
Government agency for setting up of common infrastructure. The common
infrastructure will also be available for other units and public to utilize on hiring
basis for substantial part of the capacity.
(iv). Branding and Marketing Support: Grant upto 50% for Branding and Marketing
to groups of FPOs/ SHGs/ Cooperatives or an SPV of micro food processing
enterprises.
(v). Capacity Building: The scheme envisages training for Entrepreneurship
Development Program (EDP) modified to meet the requirement of food processing
industry and product specific skilling.
