Opening of New PMBJKs
2432. Shri Arun Bharti:
Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has approved/sanctioned the opening of new Pradhan Mantri
Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs) in Jamui Parliamentary Constituency in Bihar during
the financial year 2025–26, if so, the details and timeline thereof;
(b) the physical and financial progress of the sales turnover of existing PMBJKs in said
Constituency as on January 1, 2026;
(c) the funds released and utilised for the "One-time grant" to SC/ST entrepreneurs for opening
the said Kendras in the said district during the financial year 2025–26;
(d) whether any shortfall has been identified in the supply of essential diabetes and BP medicines
to the JAKs and if so, the remedial steps proposed and timeline fixed thereon; and
(e) whether any new approvals are proposed for a Janaushadhi warehouse in the said region to
ensure faster replenishment during the financial year 2026–27?

(a) and (b): Under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) scheme, 11
JAKs have been opened in Jamui Parliamentary Constituency of Bihar. Out of 11 JAKs, 1 Kendra
has been opened during F.Y. 2025-26. During the F.Y. 2025-26, the JAKs located in the said
constituency have reported a sales turnover of ₹ 1.86 Crore till 31.12.2025.
(c): Out of the 11 JAKs operational in Jamui Constituency, no request has been received for One
Time Special Incentive from any SC/ST entrepreneur till 31.12.2025.
(d): Number of steps have been taken to ensure effective and regular supply of medicines
including essential diabetes and BP medicines at Jan Aushadhi Kendras (JAKs), including the
following:(i) Since September 2024, stocking by JAKs of 200 commonly used medicines, consisting
of the 100 top-selling medicines in the scheme product basket and 100 fast-selling
medicines in the market, has been incentivised, under which JAK owners are eligible for
monthly incentive based on the stocks that they maintain of these medicines.
(ii) An end-to-end information-technology-enabled supply chain system is in place to
connect a robust supply chain system consisting of 5 warehouses and a growing network
of distributors across the country.
(iii)In addition, with a view to ensure availability of commonly used products, 400 fast-
moving products are monitored regularly by the scheme implementing agency
{Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI)} and demand for the
same is forecasted on an ongoing basis. Further, steps have been taken to digitise the
forecasting method to augment the procurement process.
(e): No such proposal is under consideration in the said region at present.
