SHRI ANIL YESHWANT DESAI Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:- (a) whether it is a fact that the proposed Jewar airport in Uttar Pradesh near the national capital is going to open shortly and if so, the main attractions and amenities that would be available at the said Airport; (b) the present status of rail and road connectivity from Jewar airport to various parts of the national capital and the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi; and (c) the steps proposed to be taken to reduce the reporting time for domestic and international passengers? ANSWER Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar Mohol) (a) to (c): Noida (Jewar) International Greenfield Airport project is in advanced stage of completion. The Terminal building of approx. 1.38 lakh sqm with 3900 metre long runway and associated infrastructure would be able to handle 12 million passengers per annum (MPPA). The airport will feature a paperless passenger facilitation system, including self-baggage drop, self-boarding and all DigiYatra enabled gates, to support efficient passenger processing.
