ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ िष एवं िकसान क(cid:670)ाण रा(cid:475) मं(cid:361)ी (SHRI BHAGIRATH CHOUDHARY) (a): As reported by Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority(APEDA) of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the global demand of organic products has been growing consistently as evident from growth in the world market from 129.00 billion USD in 2020 to 156.94 billion USD in 2024. (b) & (c): To promote organic farming in the country, the Government is implementing two schemes namely Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) in all the States/UTs except North Eastern States and Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) for the North Eastern States. Both schemes stress on end- to-end support to farmers engaged in organic farming i.e. from production to processing, certification and marketing. Primary focus of the schemes is to form organic clusters, with preference to small and marginal farmers, to create a supply chain. Under PKVY scheme, assistance of Rs. 31,500 per ha is provided over 3 years for promotion of organic farming. Out of this, assistance of Rs. 15,000 per ha is provided to farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer for on- farm /off –farm organic inputs, financial assistance of ₹4,500 per ha for marketing and branding, ₹3,000 per ha for certification, and ₹9,000 per ha for training and capacity building. The funds released to the States/UTs under PKVY and MOVCDNER is at Annexure –I. As informed by Govt. of Rajasthan, organic farming is promoted through PKVY, State Scheme-Goverdhan Jaivik Urvak Yojana and Bullock Farming Scheme & Organic award. To enhance availability of Organic Product to consumers State has started organic food market in Jaipur, Kota and Udaipur.(d): Organic Farming Schemes promote natural resource–based, integrated, and climate-resilient farming systems that conserve resources, enhance soil health, and minimise dependence on external inputs. The main objective of organic farming is to promote Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) by ensuring a balanced and efficient use of chemical fertilizers, bio-fertilizers, and organic manures. The evaluation conducted by NITI Aayog during 2025 assessed the promotion of organic farming practices for its effectiveness in terms of agronomic benefits in the country. As per the evaluation report, 75.85% farmers reported that adopting organic methods led to significant improvement in soil fertility, reduced chemical input cost or enhanced produce quality.
