ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES
(SHRI RAVNEET SINGH)
(a): Under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME)
Scheme, loans for 1,33,961 micro food processing enterprises have been sanctioned during the last
three years including 3,576 loans sanctioned in the State of Jharkhand. The State-wise and Year-
wise details are at Annexure-I.
(b): Under the PMFME Scheme, as on 31st December 2025, loans for 1,72,707 micro food
processing enterprises have been sanctioned and 1,36,723 beneficiaries have been trained across
the country. Out of which, loans for 27,360 micro food processing enterprises have been sanctioned
and 38,182 beneficiaries have been trained in the State of Maharashtra. The district-wise details
for the State of Maharashtra are at Annexure-II.
(c): Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has conducted a third-party mid-term
impact evaluation of the PMFME scheme to assess the impact of the scheme during FY 2024-25.
The assessment indicates that the Scheme has made significant progress in formalisation of the
unorganised food processing sector, with 59,202 enterprises brought into the formal framework
through registrations such as Goods and Service Tax (GST), Food Safety and Standards Authority
of India (FSSAI) and Udyam, as on 31st December 2025. The Scheme has supported creation of
more than 10 lakh employment opportunities. The PMFME beneficiaries have reported increase
in average turnover by about 1.7 times after availing support under the Scheme. The study has
highlighted that the integration of technology and financial support through PMFME has helped
entrepreneurs by increasing their production capacity, turn over and business growth, leading to
income and employment generation.
